Jyra Health is fully committed to protecting the privacy and security of your Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and its implementing regulations.

What is HIPAA?

HIPAA is a federal law that establishes national standards for the protection of individuals' medical records and other personal health information. It applies to healthcare providers, health plans, healthcare clearinghouses, and their business associates.

How We Protect Your Health Information

• Administrative Safeguards: We maintain comprehensive policies and procedures, conduct regular staff training, and perform periodic risk assessments to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Physical Safeguards: Physical access to systems containing PHI is restricted and monitored. Our data centers employ enterprise-grade physical security measures.
• Technical Safeguards: All PHI is encrypted both in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). We implement strict access controls, audit logging, and automatic session timeouts.

Your HIPAA Rights

Under HIPAA, you have the right to:

• Access and obtain a copy of your health records
• Request amendments to your health information
• Receive an accounting of disclosures of your PHI
• Request restrictions on certain uses and disclosures
• Request confidential communications
• File a complaint if you believe your rights have been violated

Business Associates

We require all third parties who may access PHI on our behalf, including pharmacies, payment processors, and technology providers, to sign Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) that contractually obligate them to protect your information in compliance with HIPAA.

Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a breach of unsecured PHI, we will notify affected individuals, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and, when required, the media, in accordance with HIPAA breach notification requirements.

Privacy Officer
